FAQ:
1.
How do I get involved with the team?
Right
now, we are playing rugby every Sunday at 2:30 at Portman park,
anybody is welcome. It is not a team
sponsored event, however. It is an open
pick-up game, so the club is not liable before the true start of the season (February).
An exception to this is that we will be playing the Saturday after Christmas,
the 26th, not Sunday the 27th. This a great way to get to know people
associated with Marauder Rugby and to get to know the game. The first practice is the first Monday in
February. Announcements will be made at
the local high schools about meetings.
2.
What is Rugby and what is it about?
Rugby
is a contact sport, but the contact is very controlled. Statistically, rugby is safer than football
and hockey. Rugby is a descendant of
soccer and the predecessor to football.
It originated in 1863, and is the second most popular sport in the world. An old saying about rugby states that it is a
hooligans sport played by gentlemen. In
the sport and on this team, respect, honor, and class are three morals that we
as a coaching staff and team focus on for our players. Rugby is a sport different than most any
other. It is a very tight fraternity in
the united states, as the game is only played by a
select few. The way the team has
recruited in the past is to merely invite a recruit out and let them play the
game and fall in love with the sport. It
doesnt take anything more than just one good game of rugby to be hooked for
life.
3.
When will the website be complete?

There
are only a few requirements to play rugby for Marauder Rugby. It is required that each player be in high school, A GED program, or technical school
associated with a high school. Players
have a four year eligibility window. If
a player would turn 20 before September 1st of the calendar year of
the season that player would not be eligible to play.

The
coaching staff requests that players each player attends every practice
